Pool Cleaners Compared: Robotic, Automatic, and Manual
Cleaner choice is really a question of how much homeowner effort is being traded for how much upfront cost. Lakefront lots near Lake Conroe need grading and drainage planned so the pool, the slope to the water, and any retaining structure all work together, which is covered in the site evaluation before anything is designed.

Robotic and Automatic Cleaners
Robotic cleaners are self-contained units with their own motor and filtration, independent of the pool's main pump, and generally offer the most thorough cleaning (including climbing walls and the waterline) with the least ongoing effort, at the highest upfront cost of the three. Pressure-side and suction-side automatic cleaners connect to the pool's existing plumbing or a dedicated booster pump, costing less upfront than robotics but generally cleaning less thoroughly and adding some wear to the pool's existing circulation system.
Manual Vacuuming
A manual vacuum head on a pole, connected to the skimmer or a dedicated vacuum line, costs the least but requires active homeowner time and attention; it remains a reasonable option for a smaller pool or for spot-cleaning between automated cleaning cycles rather than as the sole cleaning method on a larger pool.
